If you’re looking for a daith piercing in Staten Island or the NYC area, I offer precise cartilage piercings using high-quality jewelry selected for proper healing and long-term comfort.
I’m Paul, a professional body piercer with over 26 years of experience. Every piercing I perform is done with a focus on placement, jewelry selection, and long-term results.
What Is a Daith Piercing?
A daith piercing is placed through the inner fold of cartilage just above the ear canal.
Because of its tucked-in placement, it creates a more subtle look while still adding depth and detail to the ear. These piercings are often incorporated into curated ears or worn as a stand-alone feature.

Jewelry Options for Daith Piercings
Daith piercings are typically started with jewelry that follows the natural curve of the ear and allows for proper healing.
Common starter options include:
- Implant-grade stainless rings
- Clicker-style titanium rings designed for comfort and fit
- Simple or decorative designs depending on preference
- Solid gold options when appropriate
Because of the anatomy, rings are commonly used even during the healing process, but proper sizing and fit are essential.
I’ll select jewelry that sits correctly to minimize pressure and support healing.
I follow safety standards supported by the Association of Professional Piercers to ensure proper placement, jewelry selection, and healing.
What to Expect During Your Appointment
Your appointment is handled in a clean, controlled environment. I’ll assess your anatomy, go over placement with you, and mark the area so you can see exactly how it will look.
Because this area sits in a tight, curved area, precision is especially important. I take the time to ensure proper placement and alignment.
The piercing itself is quick, and I’ll guide you through each step so you feel comfortable throughout.

Pain Level & Healing Time
Daith piercings are generally considered moderate in terms of discomfort. Most clients describe it as a strong pinch followed by pressure.
Healing typically takes around 6 to 12 months, as this is a cartilage piercing.
Because of the location, the piercing is somewhat protected, which can help reduce accidental irritation during healing.
Aftercare Basics
These piercings require consistent aftercare, but their placement can make them easier to protect from everyday contact.
Basic aftercare includes:
- Cleaning with sterile saline solution
- Avoiding unnecessary movement or rotation
- Being gentle when cleaning around the area
I’ll go over aftercare in detail during your appointment so you know exactly how to care for your piercing.

Who Is a Good Candidate for a Daith Piercing
Not everyone has the anatomy needed for a daith piercing, and proper assessment is important.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Have enough tissue to support the piercing
- Want a more subtle, tucked cartilage piercing
- Are open to appropriate jewelry for healing
- Can commit to proper aftercare
If this piercing isn’t a good fit for your ear, I’ll let you know and suggest alternatives that may work better.
Daith Piercings & Migraines
Daith piercings are sometimes associated with migraine relief, but there is currently no scientific evidence supporting this.
Some clients choose this piercing for that reason, while others simply like the look. My role is to provide safe, properly placed piercings and accurate information so you can make an informed decision.

All appointments are scheduled in advance so I can give each client my full attention.
