This year’s APP Conference was another one for the books. I took 13 classes and participated in one roundtable discussion, diving deep into new skills and knowledge to bring back to the studio. I also volunteered again, which continues to be such a rewarding experience—it’s a great way to give back to the organization and connect with other dedicated professionals.
I really enjoyed this year and had the chance to meet a bunch of new piercers, which is always a highlight. But I’ll admit, once the conference wrapped up, I definitely felt that familiar PVD (post-APP Vegas depression) creep in a little.
To be honest, this year and last year felt like one long stretch of continued education. I’ve attended so many amazing seminars between conferences that everything has started to blend together—in the best way possible. I feel incredibly grateful to be in a position where I can take time away from the studio to not only invest in my education but also recharge and spend time with some of the most amazing people in the industry.
The countdown to the next conference has already begun. Until then, I’ll be back at work, putting everything I’ve learned into practice and looking forward to what’s next.
