From June 6th to June 13th, I’ll be heading to Las Vegas to attend the 20th Annual Association of Professional Piercers Conference—and I couldn’t be more excited (or more honored).

This year marks my very first time attending conference, and it’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time. What makes it even more meaningful is that I’ve been chosen as a recipient of the Shannon Larratt Scholarship, generously provided by Industrial Strength. To be recognized in this way—under the name of someone as impactful as Shannon—is incredibly humbling.

This scholarship now allows me to attend one of the most important gatherings of professional piercers from around the globe. I’ll be taking a full schedule of classes to deepen my understanding of technique, safety, aftercare, and industry standards, and I’ll also be volunteering my time working for the APP throughout the week. It’s an opportunity to not only learn from the best in the business but also to give back to the community that’s given me so much.

As the conference draws closer, I’ve been reflecting on how grateful I am to be where I am today. Being part of the team at Bound for Glory Tattoo in Staten Island has opened doors that once felt out of reach. The support I’ve received—from coworkers, clients, and colleagues—has played a huge role in helping me grow, and I carry that with me as I head to Vegas.

I can’t wait to bring back new knowledge, new techniques, and a renewed passion to share with all of you. Thank you for being a part of my journey.
