Every now and then, something really special happens that reminds you why you love what you do—and this was one of those moments.

While I was working at Ahimsa, I had the absolute honor of being visited by none other than Brian Skellie. If you know piercing, you know Brian. His contributions to the industry—from sterilization science to jewelry standards—have been monumental. He’s not only a respected educator and innovator, but someone whose work has influenced how we approach safety and precision in every procedure we perform.

Having Brian stop by while I was working was incredibly meaningful to me. It was surreal to have one of my personal role models walk into the space and take the time to connect. We talked shop, swapped stories, and of course—nerded out over all things body jewelry and technique. For a piercer who’s always trying to evolve, getting even a few minutes with someone like Brian is pure gold.

The visit reminded me how valuable our community is and how lucky I am to be surrounded by people who care deeply about pushing this industry forward. It’s not every day that you get a visit from someone who’s helped shape the standards we strive to uphold.

To Brian—thank you for stopping by, for your kindness, and for everything you’ve done for the world of piercing. Your visit meant more than you probably realized.
