I understand that getting a piercing is a big decision and you might have questions about how to prepare, what to bring, and what to expect. Below you’ll find answers to the most frequently asked questions specific to getting pierced at my studio. This information is designed to ensure a smooth, safe, and informed experience from start to finish.

Age Requirements for Piercing

How old do I have to be to get pierced?
The minimum age for a body piercing is 18+. A valid state or government-issued photo ID is required. I do pierce clients aged 16 or 17 with parental consent and proper identification. Minors are never eligible for private (nipple/genital), surface, or body modification piercings. The parent/guardian must be present at the time of service and both must present the required IDs. Identification Requirements

What ID should I bring?
If you’re 18 or older, bring a valid driver’s license, state ID, or passport with a photo. If you’re 16 or 17, both the parent/guardian and the client must bring valid photo IDs. The guardian’s ID must be government-issued; the minor’s ID can be school or state-issued but must include a photo. Proof of guardianship is required (birth certificate or legal guardianship documents). No photocopies or digital documents are accepted.

Scheduling and Availability

What days/times are you available?
I operate by appointment only—no walk-ins. My studio is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 12 PM to 8 PM, inside Bound for Glory Tattoo on Staten Island. Schedule via text at 347-770-7653 or book online at book.ipricku.com.

What to Expect During Your Visit

What should I expect during the appointment?
When you arrive, you’ll complete paperwork, then select jewelry with my guidance. After receiving your final quote, we’ll sterilize your jewelry and tools, and head to the piercing room (you can bring 1 friend for support). After cleaning and marking the area—and your approval—we perform the piercing. Aftercare instructions, follow-up info, and a full breakdown of your jewelry are provided before checkout.

Pricing Transparency

How much are your piercings?
Piercings are priced in two parts: a service fee and the cost of jewelry. Fees vary by placement and can be found on my booking page. Jewelry costs are quoted in-person based on what fits your anatomy.

Jewelry Pricing and Estimates

Why can’t you quote me a price on jewelry in advance?
I carry jewelry in many sizes, lengths, gauges, materials, and gemstone options. All of which affect price. Market fluctuations and individual anatomy make remote quotes impossible. I only provide accurate pricing after an in-person consultation.

Payment Methods Accepted

What forms of payment do you accept?
Cash and cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, and Monero.

Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy

What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments require 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged a $20 fee before rebooking. Tardiness may result in forfeiting the appointment slot.

Procedures I Decline to Perform

What piercings won’t you perform?
I decline piercings that are unsafe, unlikely to heal, ones where I am unsure how they are performed, or contraindicated by anatomy. These include: horizontal tongue piercings (snake eyes), cartilage piercings in both ears at once, and triangle piercings (though I can refer you to someone excellent for this procedure). I do not perform nipple, genital, surface, or modification piercings on minors under any circumstance.

Piercing Concerns and Infections

I think my piercing is infected. What should I do?
Only a medical professional can diagnose an infection. However, most concerns are normal healing reactions like crust, pus, or discharge. I’m happy to check your piercing (even if I didn’t do it). Just schedule a consultation for peace of mind.
