I’ve just returned from an unforgettable 8-day trip to Las Vegas, where I attended the 20th Annual Association of Professional Piercers Conference. To say it was life-changing feels like an understatement. For years, I had dreamed of going. And this year, thanks to the Shannon Larratt Scholarship provided by Industrial Strength, that dream became a reality.

This scholarship didn’t just get me through the doors—it gave me the opportunity to volunteer alongside some of the most dedicated and inspiring individuals I’ve ever met in this industry. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to the team at Industrial Strength and to those who selected me for this honor. Shannon Larratt was an undeniable pioneer and visionary in the body modification world, and to attend my first conference under his name was incredibly humbling.

Volunteering played a huge role in shaping my week. I had worried that without it, I might keep to myself most of the time. But being on the volunteer crew helped me connect with people immediately—and those connections were profound. I met piercers who genuinely care about the work they do, who prioritize client safety, education, and the artistry behind each piercing. For the first time in a long time, I felt completely surrounded by peers who shared my passion, my ethics, and my standards.

The conference itself was packed with opportunities to grow. The classes were nothing short of incredible—many taught by industry icons and medical professionals whose work I’ve admired for years. To sit in those rooms and be taught by the very people who helped shape the modern piercing industry was surreal. Even more amazing? Every single one of them was open, generous, and willing to share their knowledge and techniques. I left with new tools and tips I can’t wait to implement back home.

And then there was the Expo floor—wall-to-wall beauty. Seeing so many jewelry companies in one place was overwhelming in the best possible way. I visited brands I already love and discovered new ones I’d been hoping to see in person. The craftsmanship, the innovation, the sparkle—it’s a piercer’s dream! I brought back a collection of beautiful, implant-grade body jewelry that I’m so excited to showcase at the studio. There are new designs, new finishes, and a few statement pieces I think you’ll fall in love with.

All that said, I’m happy to be home and back at Bound for Glory Tattoo on Staten Island. I’ll be working Tuesday through Saturday as always, and appointments are available at book.ipricku.com. I can’t wait to share some of what I learned and let you see the new jewelry up close. Whether you’re a long-time client or someone brand new, thank you for being part of the journey. Your continued support means the world.

Here’s to growing, learning, and elevating the standards of our industry—one piercing at a time.
