Yesterday marked 10 years since I first stepped into the world of body piercing.

This anniversary isn’t just a milestone—it’s a reminder of where I came from, of the hard work it took to get here, and of the incredible people who shaped my path. Most importantly, it’s a moment to honor my mentor, Ericca Colton—the person who made all of this possible. I wouldn’t be who I am today without her.

My apprenticeship was not glamorous. I didn’t sit around and knit or hang out waiting to be taught. It was tough. It was humbling. It was earned.

I scrubbed every inch of that shop on my hands and knees with Scott towels and bleach. I spent hours forming perfect circles out of captives in massive Tupperware bins. I walked miles through snow and rain for food runs and supply pickups. I even cleaned the bathrooms of every shop on the island at one point.

And I’d do it all again.

Because every moment, every task, every challenge—was worth it.

To all of my clients over these past 10 years: thank you. Whether you came in for a piercing, bought jewelry, or just stopped by to talk—I appreciate you more than you know. You’ve kept me going, and you’ve made it possible for me to do what I love every single day.

Here’s to a decade of dedication—and to whatever comes next.

With gratitude,
Paul
