Resume

Frequently Asked Questions

And my Answers
How old do I have to be to get pierced?

The age requirement for a body piercing is 18+ (a valid state or government issued photo ID is required). With parental consent and proper identification, I will pierce clients 16 or 17 years of age. Minors may never receive private piercings (nipples/genitals) or surface piercings/surface anchors or body modification of any kind. For situations where parental consent will be considered: The piercee must have their parent/guardian present in studio at time of service and both parties must provide proper ID. Please see further information about ID requirements below.

What ID should I bring?

If you are over 18, a valid drivers license, state ID, or passport with a photo. If you are 16 or 17; a photo ID is required for both the parent and child. Guardian/Parent ID's must be state or government issued. Child's ID may be issued by school or government, but must have a photo. In addition to the above, proof of guardianship is required. This would be either a birth certificate or legal guardianship papers. Please keep in mind that absolutely no service will be performed without proper identification present in the studio (no photocopies or electronic versions of documents)

What days/time are you available?

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, I’ve been operating by appointment only. My regular workdays are Tuesday through Saturday at Bound for Glory Tattoo in Staten Island, New York, with appointments available from 12 PM to 8 PM. You’re welcome to schedule by texting 347-770-7653, or you can book directly anytime at book.ipricku.com.

What should I expect?

You'll arrive for your appointment, fill out paperwork, select appropriate jewelry with the assistance of your piercer, you'll then be quoted a final service price. We'll sterilize your jewelry and our equipment. Now we head to the piercing room (you can bring 1 friend along for moral support). After we clean and mark the area, and you agree it looks great, we can get to piercing. Bam! You'll get a peek of the new you in the mirror, we'll discuss aftercare, follow-up visits, and answer any questions you have left. We will head back to the lobby of the studio where you'll be given detailed info about your selected jewelry and aftercare options, and pay for your services.

How much are your piercings?

Piercings are broken down in to two parts; the piercing fee and the cost of the jewelry. Both vary depending on service/placement. To see piercing fees you can visit our booking page. All jewelry prices are quoted during an in-person consultation at the studio.

Why can't you quote me a price on jewelry?

I understand that it may be frustrating that I can not provide estimates for jewelry over the phone or internet and I appreciate your understanding. I try to be cognizant of varying budgets when stocking jewelry and can assure you that much time and effort go in to ensuring fair pricing to my clients. To that end, I stock various precious gemstones and gold settings that fluctuate in price based on market value. Additionally it must be considered that I carry multiple diameters, lengths, and gauges in many of the styles available in the studio and I have no way of knowing which of those will be used before properly assessing an individual's anatomy during a consultation. For these AND OTHER reasons I simply can not provide estimates outside of an in-store consultation.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash and Cryptocurrency such as Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum, Monero, etc.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients must arrive on time for their scheduled appointment. Tardiness may result in the forfeiture of an appointment. All cancellations/rescheduling require 24 hour notice. Clients who fail to provide 24 hours notice of cancellation/rescheduling will have to pay a $20 cancellation fee before scheduling any future appointments. Both failure to arrive at a scheduled appointment ("no-show") or a client's decision not to receive scheduled services, must be treated as a cancellation. No exceptions will be made.

What piercings won't you perform?

As a practice, I will not perform piercings which are unlikely to heal or are considered unhealthy or dangerous. Some piercings are anatomy-dependent and require an in-person consultation to ensure they can be performed safely. I do not under any circumstance, perform: horizontal tongue piercings (aka: snake eyes, scoop, frog eyes). I do not perform cartilage piercings in separate ears in the same sitting. I do not perform triangle piercings (but I can refer you to someone amazing who does!) I do not perform the following services on minors, regardless of parental consent: genital piercings of any kind, nipple piercings, surface piercings, surface anchors, or any body modification procedure. For any further information, please contact me.

I think my piercing is infected. What do I do?

If you feel like your piercing is infected you should go see a doctor. No piercer can offer medical advice. However, in my experience when the client believes that a piercing is infected, in most cases it is a perfectly healing piercing. Crust, pus, and discharge are normal, especially early in the healing process. In most cases when a client comes in citing an infection this is what i am being shown. You can always stop in for me to check on the healing process of your piercing even if i did not perform it.
